During the two week time span of November 8th through November 22nd, Pfeiffer Elementary School students and staff participated in a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The fundraiser is called "Pennies for Patients," and helps raise money for the LLS. The
mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Our school had a goal of $750. We SURPASSED our goal by raising $1,040.16! Students were encouraged to collect pennies and other loose change from home. We also raised money by holding two different dress-down Fridays where students were able to dress down for a 1 dollar donation. The most exciting activity was our "Stuck for a Buck" campaign. For each dollar that a student donated on a certain day, they were given a piece of duct tape. The tape was used at an assembly to stick our own Mr. Himmelright to the wall!
Mrs. Hesketh's 3rd grade class had the largest collection at $150.30, and will be receiving a pizza party!
Mrs. McDonald's 2nd grade class was in second place with $140.13 collected! Mrs. Piskur's 5th grade class collected $117.86!
Thank you , Pfeiffer Families, for your support with this important fundraiser!
